About Coloradeaux

Hi y'all, thanks for checking out our page! My name is Eryn, and, alongside my husband Christopher, we are the baking duo that makes up the entirety of Coloradeaux King Cakes.

Our Journey

We moved to Colorado from Louisiana in 2016, and we made our first king cake while homesick during Mardi Gras 2019. It wasn't the best, but it was the closest thing to home we had had since moving to Colorado.

From Hobby to Business

From there, we began making king cakes each year during the season, for ourselves and at the request of friends and family. In 2024, we finally began offering our cakes for sale, and the response was more than we could have hoped!

Our Story

Mardi Gras has always been special to us. It's not only a huge part of what makes our home state unique, but it plays a part in our story as a couple, too. Chris and I met in high school after my family and I evacuated from the New Orleans area during Hurricane Katrina. However, about a week after meeting, Hurricane Rita swept through the Acadiana area, and once again my family was forced to relocate.

The first few years of our relationship were long distance (between Lafayette, LA and Hattiesburg, MS), and so some of our best memories of that distance was having our parents agree to meet in the middle in New Orleans during Mardi Gras.

We hope to bring a taste of the celebration and spirit of Mardi Gras to Colorado!
